Did you know that Dallas hosts many of the best art museums in the country? In fact, the museums contain priceless works of art spanning centuries of rich human history. Collectors and enthusiasts who appreciate quality art are sure to love the exhibits at these world-class Dallas museums.

Meadows Museum

The Meadows Museum is affiliated with the Southern Methodist University and is one of the city’s finest museums. It showcases an incredible collection of Spanish art, particularly works by Francisco Goya, Pablo Picasso, and El Greco. There are 3 current exhibits at the museum. Two exhibits highlight the works of Dali, while a third spotlights the works of Bartolomé Esteban Murillo and his contemporaries. Dali fans will particularly appreciate the artist’s small-scale paintings on display, such as The Fish Man and Portrait of Madame Ducas. Meanwhile, Murillo fans will be treated to works such as the Immaculate Conception (1655–60) and Christ on the Cross with the Virgin, Mary Magdalene, and Saint John (c. 1670)

Dallas Museum of Art

The Dallas Museum of Art is one of the largest museums in the country and has been open since 1903. It contains over 24,000 works of art that span over 5,000 years. The museum’s current exhibits are on display until the beginning of 2019. They include Günther Förg: A Fragile BeautyIda O’Keeffe: Escaping Georgia’s Shadow, and An Enduring Legacy: The Eugene and Margaret McDermott Collection of Impressionist and Modern Art.

The Crow Museum of Asian Art

The Crow Museum of Asian Art was established in 1998 and showcases the works of Asian artists from China, Korea, India, and Japan. Current exhibits include Immortal Landscapes: Jade from the Collection as well as The Art of Lacquer. Carved jade representations of mountain forms and elements of nature comprise the first exhibit. Meanwhile, the second showcases lacquer artifacts that feature historical figures, scholars, and auspicious symbols.
